About Wellington
Recently named “the coolest little capital in the world” by Lonely Planet, Wellington offers something for everybody. The compact downtown area makes exploring the waterfront promenade easy. Here you will discover funky cafes and restaurants, buskers, lots of activities and entertainment for the entire family and world class galleries and museums.
Not far from the CBD you will find wildlife sanctuaries, a world class mountain bike park and there are lots of water based activities available out on the harbour.
Reputed to have more bars and restaurants per capita than New York, Wellington is well recognized for its diverse range of culinary offerings with most establishments located within easy walking distance of your accommodation.
Wellington is the hometown of movie director Sir Peter Jackson. Many movies have been made in Wellington and the city has even been host to a world premier of one of his famous Hobbit movies.
